For a number of years, MATISA’s WTM transport wagons have been able to apply flexible transport logistics adapted to the «Just in Time» method of switch renewal projects. Delivering the pre-assembled and factory-controlled switches, by rail transport directly to the work site, while respecting the various traffic gauges, meets the most demanding requirements. Reliable, safe and easy to use and to maintain, WTM wagons will greatly assist you when planning your next projects.
The «Just in Time» method consists of delivering the switches in their final assembly directly to the work site for unloading and installing in record time. The old switch is removed by the same process and returned to the factory for dismantling and reconditioning. The concept of the WTM wagons allows the transport by rail of very bulky switches, while respecting the most restrictive clearance gauges. This method also facilitates the management of switch renewal projects in dense areas and limits the space needed within the working area.
1. Loading of the switch at the factory / 2. Transport in a « freight » convoy / 3. Unloading of the new switch at the work site with a rail crane
4. Loading of the old switch with the same crane / 5. Return trip to the factory for disassembly/elimination/recycling
The MW (Mobile Workshop) is a workshop machine specially designed for transporting and laying/removing special track components such as Bonded Insulating Joints, Expansion Joints, Safety Rails, Rail Coupons and Special Sleepers. The machine is equipped with a large working area that is sheltered from the weather, protected from traffic on adjacent tracks, quiet and very well lit. There are dedicated places for cutting and welding rails. The machine is also equipped with a storage area on the main floor and lifting equipment for handling the various components. The machine is fitted with fastener opening/closing systems. Thanks to its level of safety, versatility and comfort, the MW is the ideal solution for the maintenance and modernisation of railway infrastructures.
